This is a tribute to my favorite heroes in a half shell. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the cartoon that inspired me to be interested in art, and from there I began drawing and making my own characters. (Plus they're all named after Renaissance artists, how awesome is that!?) I went with the classic skin colors of the original action figures; it is still my favorite version of the turtles.
This was done on Bristol (Strathmore 300 series, smooth) inked with a brush tip marker (Prismacolor Premier) and colored with watercolor markers (Crayola Supertips). After laying down some color with the markers I used a wet brush to pull it out and paint with it. For some reason the orange didn't spread like the others, so if you want to try this technique I suggest testing your colors before using them.
